Abstract
At the start of our exploration into child labor, we learned about the case of Orlando, a child who fishes in the mangroves of western Honduras. This is a typical example of the involvement of children in the subsistence activities of the family unit in the primary sector of the economy. Later on, we learned about other cases that brought us closer to the great diversity of situations faced by working children, from informal sales on the streets of Colombian cities, to harvesting on cocoa plantations in Ghana, to child sexual exploitation in Thailand, to physically demanding activities in artisanal mining in the Peruvian Amazon region.
