Abstract
This chapter presents Charlie English-Peach’s lived experiences of the transition from leaving care into independent adult life. This chapter provides Charles’ first-hand account of the impact and outcomes of the main policies that exist for care leavers. Charlie's lived account details that while there have been numerous recent policy initiatives and changes to the system of support for care leavers which acknowledge the problematic nature of this transition into independence, the system is not working effectively. The chapter concludes with an analysis of changes that could be made to improve the system.
