Abstract
This chapter brings together for discussion the key themes which have emerged from the lived experiences of service users and carersĀ in the previous chapters. An overarching point of discussion is that while there have been improvements over time in involving service users and carers in health and care services, there is still a lot to be done to move services away from consultation and towards partnership and co-production. Moreover, the accounts in this book demonstrate that when service users and carers are provided with the voice and means to do so, they are able to articulate cogent and coherent ways to improve policy and practice.
