Abstract
This chapter presents the lived experiences of Chantele Harvey-Head to detail the impact of living with an undiagnosed mental health disorder over a long period of time. Chantele’s account details her experiences of living with her mental health condition from childhood through to adulthood and the long-term impacts of not recognising her condition early enough, as happens to many individuals who have such conditions without realising. Her account also details her experiences of what happened when a diagnosis was finally made and she sought and was provided with help, and whether the help provided was appropriate. The chapter concludes with an analysis of changes that could be made to improve the system.
