Service Oriented, Holonic and Multi-Agent Manufacturing Systems for Industry of the Future (SOHOMA 2020)

Abstract

The management of table grape production is complex, since it must adhere to strict production requirements, facilitate numerous decisions by various experts, and integrate many human workers. This paper discusses the challenges experienced with a current production management system, as well as the potential benefits that could be gained from implementing an improved system. The paper suggests the use of a holonic approach to develop such a table grape production management system – using the ARTI reference architecture to implement the holonic system. The implementation of the ARTI reference architecture is also discussed to show that the architecture can be a feasible solution.
