Abstract
Chronic pelvic pain presents a unique diagnostic and treatment challenge for the pain physician given the variable presentations and complex anatomy of pain transmission. Despite resolution of the underlying pathology, pain can persist and can remain. Understanding the anatomy of the pelvis can aid the physician in guiding treatment, especially interventional, as many blocks can be performed in the pelvis depending on the anatomical structures involved and the pattern of pain at presentation.
