Abstract
Luis Eduardo Pacheco of Stratocat.com has cataloged data on balloon launching bases and sites around the world since the late 1940’s. His list provides detailed information and launch logs for around 80 sites, which represents only a portion of the almost 400 different sites he has identified, many being no longer active. This chapter will focus on sites primarily used by science missions of the NASA Balloon Program, but commercial and international sites will also be discussed.
