Abstract
Kracauer’s posthumous book constitutes a fundamental, and insufficiently examined, contribution to an exhaustive revision of the historiographical method from a perspective that, essentially, takes up the essayistic insights developed by Kracauer in the great writings of the 1920s and 1930s. The article studies central aspects of the book, placing them in relation to the previous and contemporary writings by the German thinker.
Translation from the Spanish by Cecilia E. Lasa.
