Abstract
Like any good book about a journey, a process, or a long process a logical way to conclude our conversation is to reflect, observe, and provide some context for some of the core takeaways that could be generated from this journey. What this chapter does is to attempt to summarize and encapsulate the takeaways and insights that my own personal journey might be able to generate for you. Put another way, if you have made it this far through this book and the commentary included therein, taking a chance to catch up, reflect, and consider how these lessons might apply to your own journey is most likely a good idea. The transition and shift from a practitioner background—be it public practice, business and industry, or some other role, to higher education, is certainly something that requires a comprehensive assessment and evaluation of risk. To that end, what are the primary areas of focus in this last chapter of the book are reflecting on what worked, understanding what did not work, and the lessons learned from both types of information.
