Abstract

The Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by the newly identified severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The disease has reached pandemic proportions in an extremely short period. The primary cause of this outbreak is through saliva droplets from the infected person to another person. Still, several key causes and limiting factors are unknown, making the intense remedial actions unsubstantial. Our knowledge about how the virus causes damage in the lungs of patients, how the infection raises the immune response (if any) against it, or what is the long-term outcome of patients surviving the devastating complications of the disease is very crucial and has been rising. Researchers are keen to find the epidemiological solution that may protect the people from this pandemic and can aid break the chain. This chapter presents a systematic literature survey for analyzing different aspects of research and also about the clinical studies being carried out on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on patients ailing from obesity and asthma diseases. This chapter also helps in understanding the association of COVID-19 and its severity with COVID-19-confirmed patients who are already suffering from mild or chronic obesity and asthma.
