Abstract
The basics of stressed state theory are described in short. Basic information from the course of strength of materials is expanded. The most important concepts of stress intensity, octahedral tangential pressure, principal areas, and shear areas are presented. The characteristics introduced here are used later in the formulation of plasticity conditions.
