Transmission of Services in the Cumulative DAB Network: Interface STI



The DAB system is designated for broadcasting multimedia services – so providers of such services must be able to communicate in a unified way with the DAB multiplex operator. The aim of unification of such communication is to get support of the normative software for organization of the multiplex signal frames in the DAB server by multiplex operator.

Communication of the service provider with the multiplex operator has two basic functions:
  • Consultation and determination of the conditions and the adequate parameters of service location in the DAB multiplex signal

  • Transmission of the service itself with its parameters to the DAB server

These functions are performed via the Service Transport Interface (STI) or its parts described on the three levels for implementation of only limited functions.
