Definition

Islamic strategic management refers to the process of thinking, analysis, decision-making, and action, which is based on Islamic methods and sources, in which individual, group, organizational, national, and transnational goals are pursued. Of course, it is unnecessary to extract from Islamic sources and Islamic methods from the beginning to the end of this process. However, Islam determines the primary orientation, and so experimental or nonexperimental sources can be used to achieve Islamic strategic management.

Leaders of armies, major corporations, and political parties have long been expected to have strategies, but now no serious organization could imagine being without one (Freedman 2015). Therefore, strategic management literature is vast – the number of items reviewed over the years close to 2000 – and it grows larger every day (Mintzberg et al. 2005)....
