Abstract

Understanding normal development in children is essential to identify abnormalities. There is a wide variation in developmental milestones including sitting, walking, skipping, speaking, behaving, and smiling. This often worries parents and family, health visitors and physicians. In this chapter, we define the concept of normality and apply the concept to growth.
