Abstract

Like other chronic illnesses in childhood, youth with T1D are frequently prone to a variety of challenges and stressors. In view of the never-ending burden of taking care of their diabetes, many youngsters with T1D are afflicted by a number of psychological disorders. A major focus of this chapter is to present how to identify problems with depression, suicidality, anxiety and disordered eating, as well as their treatments.
