Abstract

Master of Axe, Pilots and Doctors have a special relation among them. That of being able to make a better future possible, more adequate and congruent with the reality they are living now and will live in the future. This achievement is only possible if “in the alley” of these professionals, there is the conviction that Innovation, Technology and Progress has to be an integral part of their profession. But Innovation means “willing to change”. To challenge the unknowns of the future, to risk one’s own. It sometimes means changing Culture. This is what happened to the world of Aviation, that quickly transitioned from a Culture where passenger Safety stemmed almost exclusively from the Captain’s Technical Skills and competences, to the current Culture, that via the use of all available technology, make the Safety deriving from the ability of more professionals to work together synergistically.

Safety where technology and human beings coexist and complement each other.

A Safety, however, where Man is, and must, remain at the center of all the processes.
