Abstract
Surgical procedures demonstrations have been an integral part of surgical education for centuries. Actually, live surgery events (LSEs) are increasing affirming as a divulgation and educational tool during scientific urological meeting and are considered an excellent training opportunity. Since the beginning of their introduction, they were related to many ethical concerns about patients’ safety. Due to their increasing spread and the role in the training practice, scientific societies developed a live surgery events policy in order to insure the patients’ safety, and the best environment for the surgeon during these events. Particularly, European Urological Association made a list of recommendations that should be used in the overall management of the live surgery events. The standardization and the spread of the introduced rules, provided important benefit to the patients, surgeons and audience.
