Abstract
Drawing on both content analysis and interview findings, this chapter presents and analyses the findings of our investigation into how differing sorts of corporate configurations effect the quality and nature of content outputs in the television production industry. In this chapter, our focus is on presenting and analysing evidence that addresses the question of how changes in organisational configuration in the television production sector (i.e. whether part of a consolidated super-indie, owned by a multinational parent company, vertically integrated or a stand-alone indie) affect the sort of content that each organisation produces. We present and analyse the findings of a systematic investigation, based primarily on findings from interviews plus analysis of content, of the connections between differing sorts of corporate configuration and the quality and nature of content outputs in the television production industry.
