Abstract
A planar tiling is a gap- and overlap-less coverage of a plane with specially formed panels or tiles. The simplest forms are triangles and quadrangles, which may be regular or irregular. Regular pentagons already cause problems, because a plane cannot be gaplessly covered by such shapes.
