Abstract

The manual of the Berlin Dissexuality Therapy for Adolescents (BEDIT-A) serves as a guidebook with a modular structure for the treatment of patients between 12 and 18 years of age who have sexual particularities for the child body age. The manual is designed for an individualized therapy setting, but can also be transferred to a group therapy setting. The overall therapeutic goal is for high-risk patients to learn behavioral control in order to prevent the first or repeated acts of CSA, or the first or repeated use of CSAI. The implementation of the manual requires psychotherapeutic, cognitive-behavioral, and sexual-pharmacological competency and requires child and adolescent psychiatric expertise regarding the specified pharmacological treatment options. Psychotherapists who are interested in using the manual should have the appropriate experience and training competency, as well as a basic understanding of risk factors, regarding CSA and the use of CSAI with adolescents.
