    In Germany, since 2012, a specific Child Protection Law ensures that health care professionals who, having noticed child sexual abuse concerning a known child, can inform the youth welfare services in a defined staged procedure. From a legal point of view, it is a form of authorization alongside the general pledge of confidentiality to enable health care professionals to take action in order to immediately stop child endangerment. The last step in the sequence of stages is the denomination of the child to the child protection services, i.e., in Germany the Youth Welfare Offices.
