Abstract
The development of the built environment (transport infrastructure and modern inhabited zones) is strongly influenced by the extension of the areas with sliding potential, that is why it is necessary to have a clear knowledge of the slipping potential, of the triggering factors that could influence the landslides develop-ment, in order to ensure a harmonious and continuously interaction between the inhabited and the natural space.
For a sustainable built environment, besides knowing all the factors that influ-ence a landslide, it is needed to apply the right solution to assure the stability (retaining walls, changing the soil profile, drains, piles, geosynthetics etc.).
