Abstract

This article provides statistics of small business’ share in the Russian economy and its role in the development of the country’s innovative potential. The author concluded the presence of barriers that prevent the normal functioning of small business in the country, as well as in the Samara region. The main factors that slow down the development and effective functioning of small business and all entrepreneurship in Russia are highlighted. Within the framework of this topic, an analysis of the small business structure in the Samara region and a survey of individuals associated with small business were conducted. Based on this analysis, the author identifies a list of problems that stop the optimal functioning of small business. In addition, a significant result of this scientific work is the systematization of the control crisis and entrepreneurship support.
