This chapter provides a step-by-step approach to calculating Living Wages, Living Income and Fair Prices, whereby the difference is highlighted between a situation of full employment and situations where full employment does not exist.

Note that this is a very economic approach. Especially with pastoralists there are many other reasons to keep livestock, such as an investment for bad times, to be given as dowry and for status.
