Abstract

Disseminated peritoneal leiomyomatosis (DPL) is a benign entity due to the proliferation of smooth muscle cells throughout the peritoneal surface. It is also known as leiomyomatosis peritonealis disseminate. The term parasitic leiomyoma relates to a similar condition in which the lesion is single (nondisseminated disease).
