A Framework for Place-Based Survey Implementation

Part of the Lecture Notes in Computer Science book series (LNAI,volume 12162)


This paper puts forth a framework for creating and implementing place-based surveys. Whereas such activities were once tedious and time consuming, digital tools can streamline much of the process. These tools not only allow for faster analysis but enable new questions to be addressed. This paper suggests that such a framework use (1) libre software, (2) web mapping, and (3) “on-the-fly” analysis in order to effectively capitalize on available tools and maximize societal benefit.
