Abstract
The creation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is the result of many years of efforts and hard work of experts, scholars, government, public, and business circles from the post-Soviet countries. Even though the project is based on rich traditions of historical and other ties, as well as significant experience in cooperation in the economic, social, and humanitarian spheres, there are a sufficient number of reasons and factors that restrain and slow down the expansion and development of the EAEU. This paper analyzes some of the main problems and risks that accompany the formation and functioning of a new integration association in contemporary conditions.
