Abstract

The author discusses the necessity to include the needs and the perspectives of elderly people in the digitalisation process. Having in mind that there is a digital divide between the older generation and the younger generation using computers and smartphones on a daily basis, programmers, employers, private and public institutions need to be made aware that a considerable proportion of the population in the EU is either off-line or only possessing limited digital skills. These parts of society need more attention when digitising the world.
