Abstract
Purpose of the paper. The article estimates the medium and long-term prospects for the development of the Russian economy. The research method used is the historical one, as well as structural and comparative analysis. Findings. Potential opportunities for economic development and threats to it are identified. It is concluded that current fiscal policy constrains incentives for economic growth. Recommendations: The authors propose alternative sources for launching multiplying processes in the economy and define key goals of industrial policy in Russia.
