Abstract
This chapter further considers the relevance of economic thought to public policy matters big and small. Specifically, we consider whether separation of Church and State is a reasonable constitutional construct in light of lobbying efforts by ideologically, politically, and economically motivated groups. We also examine for whom most economic regulations are designed to benefit, consumers or firms. In a democracy, it is often said that government is for the people. By exploring the economic incentives of governance, however, we find that it is not often for all of the people.
