Abstract

Stewardship refers to the care and management of resources and goods that is expected to be done in a responsible manner and stewards refer to the people entrusted with such care and management. It should be kept in mind that stewards are guardians or trustees. Although they do not own what is entrusted to them such as resources and goods, they are accountable for how such resources and goods are managed. The concept can be traced back to Ancient Greece and the Bible.
