Humanizing the Robot: Medicaroid’s Vision for the Future of Robotic Surgery

Abstract

Medicaroid™ is a young start-up incepted by two parent companies each with more than half a century experience: Kawasaki™ Heavy Industries, deep-rooted in providing reliable robotic solutions globally, and Sysmex™, Inc., providing diagnostic equipment and other medical solutions worldwide. Medicaroid aspires to provide with the next-generation robotic-assisted surgical tools plus other surgical robotic solutions to healthcare providers worldwide by leveraging the technical abilities from Kawasaki, best in class service and support from Sysmex, and collaboration with global opinion leaders in designing and evaluating robotic solutions to address real unmet needs of end users in surgical societies. With design and manufacturing facilities in Kobe, Japan, a business subsidiary in San Jose, California, and the potential of leveraging the already established facilities by its parent companies throughout the world, Medicaroid is equipped to sell its products worldwide as well as provide with necessary service and support immediately upon sales. Medicaroid is also dedicated to customer training and, through collaboration with world-class training facilities, plans to further assist their end users with necessary clinical support in providing high-quality patient care. They plan to pull from strengths of other global medical device manufacturers in order to complete the arsenal of tools and devices required in providing complex surgical robotic solutions. Established in Japan, they intend to initiate their clinical activities in Japan, aiming to roll out to Asia, United States, Europe, and the rest of the world in a methodical fashion.
