Abstract
This chapter provides a broad overview of human factors research in orthopaedic surgery. There has been little human factors research specific to orthopaedic surgery. Most related research evaluates operating room (OR) efficiency and safety—orthopaedic procedures are generally included in broader research evaluating OR efficiency and safety. Nevertheless, it is worth reviewing this evidence as it relates to orthopaedics.
