Abstract
The results for the associated production of a \(\mathrm {W} ^\pm \) boson and a charm quark at 13\(\,\mathrm {TeV}\), presented in the previous chapter, are included in a QCD analysis to illustrate the impact of the measurement on possible constraints of the strange quark content of the proton. The QCD analysis presented in this chapter is performed to NLO accuracy, utilizing the xFitter [1, 2] framework, version 2.0.0. The most recent HERA DIS data in combination with the CMS measurements on the \(\mathrm {W} ^\pm \) boson asymmetry and \(\mathrm {W} + \mathrm {c} \) are used.
