Abstract
Different communication styles are available to each person (see Satir, 2004). According to the personality, the socialisation and the communication styles, there are also various behavioural styles in dealing with conflicts. These so-called conflict types are manifested in a person’s emotional and behavioural responses to conflict. In the following list, five conflict types, which can occur individually as well as collectively, are presented based on the theory of communication styles by Virginia Satir (2004). The conflict styles, which are generally present in each person, are situationally and contextually variable.
