Abstract
Mindfulness is an essential part of many forms of psychotherapy. This is largely due to its effectiveness in helping people to be invested in and aware of the present moment. Mindfulness involves learning how to be more in the moment, more effective, and less judgmental. It is as much a way of life as it is a therapy skill. Practicing mindfulness will help you and your clients improve physiological and psychological well-being and decrease stress, help you and your clients make better decisions, and increase the joy you experienced from living everyday life. This chapter will discuss the benefits of mindfulness, explain how to adopt mindful attitudes, and discuss a variety of way to implement mindfulness to deal with challenging thoughts, regulate emotions, improve relationships, and broaden your mind to gain more from everyday life.
