Abstract
In establishing the decorative and spatial qualities of mise en scène in comics, the previous chapter argued that all figurative elements needed to be accounted for in the comics medium. It argues that the characters found in comics can be considered part of that formulation. As paper actors, they can be understood through acting methodologies. This chapter measures the current theories in acting against cognitive and artistic responses to comics creation and criticism to establish ways of understanding the performances found in comics.
