Abstract
This chapter brings a ‘spirit’ of play (and seriousness) to help individual creative selves inhabit the space previously proposed. Westernised thinking has tended to link play with personal development and learning through socialisation and competition. In contrast, the ideas of the French philosopher Jean-Paul Droit are brought forth in this chapter to consider play as ‘spirit’. With such a spirit for play (and seriousness), individual selves could imagine and enact different roles and practices for themselves and others and maintain a critical whilst playful attitude towards their creativities in management education. A review of two methods to study creativity (life stories, idea stories) gives practical insights when potentially adopting this spirit in educational enquiries.
