Abstract

The author aims at answering the following question: why Greek institutions are that weak? In the first part, the chapter illustrates the historical reasons which prevented the development of strong state institutions. In the second part, it focuses on the consequences of the entry of Greece into the European Communities and, then, into the Eurozone.
