Abstract
This chapter presents the Pharmacokinetic (PK) and Pharmacodynamical (PD) models. Concerning PK models, empirical and mechanistic models are explained, including their advantages and disadvantages. Compartmental models are described, including a discussion on their properties: positivity, mass conservation and stability. For PD models, such as for the PK models, empirical models and mechanistic models are referred as well. The mechanistic model described by the Hill equation is studied for different drugs and configurations.
