Abstract

Ethnoarchaeology is a branch of archaeology, in which social science studies are carried out to solve archaeological problems. Ethnoarchaeology includes the study of today social structures and processes, material objects and institutions and their possible transference to archaeological findings. It is, therefore, an indirect approach to understanding earlier historical societies (Renfrew and Bahn 2007). In archaeology, not all aspects of ancient life are comprehensible. Reconstructions rely to a considerable extent on material legacies, and this approach is therefore generally limited in its content.
