Abstract
This chapter considers this study of half a century of Australian literary prestige in a broader context of the celebration of Anglophone cultural production. Here I consider the commonalities between the gender prestige gap in Australian publishing and the lack of recognition for women in the fields of cinema and music, and I propose that the common factor across sector and over time is a lack of authority afforded to women creators. I conclude this chapter with an examination of future research avenues.
