Abstract

The fourth and last city of the future scenario is Ascent City. On April 27, 2053, the mayor of Ascent City graciously agreed to an interview. She discussed Ascent City as the home of the empowered citizen. After the great crisis of 2038, citizens learned to co-exist with each other, technology, environment, and forms of government in ways that have empowered them to create what they wanted to see in the world—an emergence of farsighted co-existence. The mayor also shared her feel for the city, how did the city evolve to what it has become, and the collective work ahead.
