Abstract
This chapter examines the role of appetite and satiety regulation in the state of homeostasis. The regulation of appetite and satiety is a complex feedback mechanism within the brain and various hormones. Adipose tissue is the most prevalent tissue in the body. It helps regulate body energy homeostasis, temperature, reproduction, glucose balance, and immune system. Understanding the physiology is critical to recognize the pathophysiology of the disease of obesity.
THERE IS AN ART TO CLEARING AWAY THE CLUTTER AND FOCUSING ON WHAT MATTERS. IT JUST REQUIRES THE COURAGE TO TAKE A DIFFERENT APPROACH.
