Abstract

Today more and more often radiological assessors use decision support systems (DSSs) and other calculation tools to provide modelling of radiological impact (JRODOS ARGOS, HPAC, TurboFRMAC, et al.). In addition to the primary purpuses, this software is applied in emergency planning in conjunction with quantitative and qualitative analysis of possible scenarios for the development of accidents. It is primarily explained by the extensive capabilities of the assessment tools, as in terms of design power as well as in terms of convenience of input data description, acquisition and analysis of results. However, there is currently a significant challenge for the users of these DSSs in preparing a correct and complete package of input data, in particular, in the part of the source term data for each of the emer-gency scenarios that are being considered. A large number of works is devoted to the development of individual special a means of creating an information link between the source term and radiation impact assessment tools. The need to consider a large variety of potential emergency processes at nuclear facilities energy at this stage significantly complicates the creation of a universal and holistic the source term preparation tool. This paper is focused on source term modelling for the group of events associated to spill of liquid radioactive material in area with forced ventialation. This work lights such issues as nature of source term, requirements from the side of atmospheric dispersion modelling taken into account, mathematical modelling of release formation, suggested ways of the model integration in radiological consequences toolkit and testing results. Atmospheric way of radioactive substances spreading is considered as one of important according to actual requirements from the side of safety analysis.
