Abstract

As the numbers of patients implanted with an LVAD continues to grow, the number of supported patients that require interventional and diagnostic non-cardiac surgical procedures (NCS) is also increasing. This chapter discusses the pre-, intra-, and postoperative considerations for LVAD-supported patients presenting for non-cardiac surgery.
