Abstract

Moving inward from the constellations to our own Solar System, most objects were initially given names following the traditional use of Greco-Roman mythology. As we entered the 21st Century, however, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) began to deviate from that tradition. New moons discovered around Saturn as well as dwarf planets and their moons were given names from other mythologies. While these mythologies may be less familiar, they are still interesting and entertaining in their own right.
