Abstract
In this chapter, we discuss the relevance of using adequate classification and terminology in psychodermatology and we present the update knowledge in this matter, with examples of illness and disease belonging to each group of classification. We analyze some conditions that can be included in different groups, reinforcing the importance of an integrative and personalized approach, as the boundaries in psychodermatologic conditions are not rigid. We conclude that objective and uniform terminology and classification are of utmost importance in the scientific community to guide research in psychodermatology, also helping to guide the clinical practice.
