Abstract
To understand the development of life, we need to understand today’s processes in the cells that make up the three domains of life. Storage of information probably first took place in the RNA, which was later replaced by the DNA. The code for the sequences of the amino acids in the protein chains is stored in the DNA. It is transferred to an RNA by copying corresponding strand sections, from which the information in the ribosome is used for forming the amino acid chains. The exact assignment is carried out by specifically loaded transport molecules that are linked to the associated amino acid using a specially adapted enzyme.
