Applications of Nanotechnology for Green Synthesis

Abstract

The basic concepts and importance of green chemistry are outlined in a concise manner. The major issues of conventional organic synthesis are discussed with special emphasis on atom economy, hazards of solvents and reagents, handling of reactions, and process economy.

A layout of different studies for the development of green chemical synthesis of an assortment of organic moieties is highlighted. The consequences of these studies reveal that green chemical routes are not only less hazardous than traditional production routines but are also highly competent and economical.

Microwave or ultrasound irradiations are famous for shortening the reaction period and giving higher yields in contrast to conventional heating. Execution of multicomponent reactions in green synthetic methods also decreases the cost of performing the reactions, because in this type of reactions the number of separation and crystallization steps is decreased. In a nutshell, new green methodologies have shown us the way to produce an assortment of organic compounds in an extraordinarily efficient manner.
